How to prepare standard 10X TAE Buffer & to make your TAE buffer smarter?

To prepare 1 Liter of 10x TAE buffer, use a 1000ml bottle with 500ml of deionized water and add:

48.4g Trizma base

20mL of 0.5M EDTA pH 8.0

11.42mL Glacial Acetic Acid, then bring final volume to 1000ml.
